I want to share something that completely transformed my understanding of healing – and maybe it will shift something for you too.
For years, I was trapped in what I now call “fixing mode” – constantly trying to solve problems, find what was wrong, and force solutions through sheer effort and willpower. But true healing? That happens in a completely different realm – one I didn’t even know existed until my body taught me otherwise.
When My Body Became My Greatest Teacher
Shoulder pain entered my life and began affecting everything. For months, I couldn’t raise my arm, couldn’t reach anything behind my back. The pain was relentless, and even turning my body hurt.
I tried everything I could think of. Acupuncture, physical therapy, fascia work – you name it, I tried it. Session after session, treatment after treatment. I was determined to FIX this problem, to find the root cause and eliminate it once and for all.
But what I didn’t realize: my entire approach was creating more of what I didn’t want.
I was literally at war with my own body. “Why aren’t you healing?” I’d demand. “What’s WRONG with you?” My vibrational environment was one of attack, judgment, and resistance. I was so focused on the problem that I was magnifying exactly what I was trying to eliminate.
The Breakdown That Became a Breakthrough
One day, after yet another failed attempt to “fix” my shoulder, I completely broke down. I was so angry at my body, so frustrated with the situation, so tired of the inconvenience this was causing my life.
And in that moment of complete collapse, something incredible happened.
Through my tears and exhaustion, I suddenly felt… stillness. Not the kind of stillness I’d tried to create through meditation or positive thinking. This was different. This was pure presence – no mind, no thinking, just pure being, pure existence.
For the first time in months, I wasn’t trying to change anything. I wasn’t analyzing or strategizing or fighting. I was just… there. With myself. With my shoulder. With whatever was.
Discovering the Invisible You
And in that space of complete acceptance, I finally understood what Dr. Sue meant by “Loving Presence” – not as a concept, but as a felt sense, an embodied reality living within me.
All this time, I’d been trying to heal from my thinking mind – the part of me that analyzes, plans, and problem-solves. But the real me, the part that actually has the power to heal, is invisible to the thinking mind. It’s pure beingness, pure consciousness, pure life force.
Dr. Sue calls this our “Soulful Self” – the energy being that we actually are, temporarily wearing a physical body. When I stopped the mental warfare and dropped into pure being, I finally met this invisible version of myself.
From Doing to Being: The Healing Revolution
The shift from fixing mode to healing mode isn’t about doing different things – it’s about being in a completely different frequency.
Fixing mode is all about doing:
- What’s wrong?
- How do I eliminate this problem?
- What technique should I try next?
- Why isn’t this working?
- I need to MAKE this better
Healing mode is all about being:
- Where in my body do I feel this?
- Can I be present with what’s here?
- What does this part of me need?
- How can I bring love to this experience?
- What wants to emerge naturally?
When I finally stopped attacking my shoulder and started listening to it, everything changed. Instead of seeing it as a problem to solve, I began relating to it as a part of myself that needed attention, care, and love.
The Invisible Revolution on the Yoga Mat
This shift didn’t require expensive treatments or complicated protocols. It happened on the mat, in my own presence, through the simple revolutionary act of feeling instead of thinking.
Through BodyAwake Yoga and Dr. Sue’s Energy Codes work, I learned to:
- Sense my bioenergetic field – that invisible energy that’s actually running the show
- Listen to my body’s wisdom – instead of overriding it with mental strategies
- Build circuits for healing – by breathing love and presence into activated areas
- Trust my body’s intelligence – rather than trying to control every outcome
The most profound realization? My body knew exactly how to heal itself if I allowed and created the inner space vibrational environment. It had been trying to communicate with me all along. I just hadn’t learned its language yet.
What Changed Everything
