Creating from Being: When I Stopped Forcing and Started Feeling Within

creating within I am

Hey beautiful souls! It’s been a while since I sat down to share with you. These past few months have been filled with experiences both big and small, and through them, I’ve truly experienced what it means to create from the inside out – starting from a place of Being.

Today I want to share my house-hunting story and how it opened my eyes to a completely new way of navigating life’s curveballs. Maybe you’re like me – you’ve heard people say “the answers are within” but wondering how to “hear” that inner voice.

When Change Came Knocking

For eight beautiful years, I absolutely loved my rental home. This space held so many memories – every corner had my personal touch, the familiar hellos from the lobby desk, the convenience of everything around me. It truly felt like my Sweet Home.

But life has its own timing, doesn’t it? My landlord informed me the house had been sold, and I needed to move out by December 15th.

This time, I decided to try something completely different.

A New Approach: Being Before Doing

Sure, I’d scroll through rental listings, but before each search, I kept coming back to my center, back to my body. I’d tune into what felt peaceful and aligned inside me first. This little practice I learned from BodyAwake Yoga and Dr. Sue’s “The Energy Codes” has honestly been life-changing – staying present with my inner state instead of getting pulled around by external circumstances.

I practiced feeling into my internal landscape, like checking the weather inside myself – no judgment, just awareness.

As weeks passed and I was down to three weeks left, I still hadn’t found anything that made my heart sing. That familiar anxiety started creeping in… my body getting tight, shoulders tense, that nagging feeling that “I should be doing something more”.

When Anxiety Meets the Practice of Presence

Then I found a place close by – brand new renovation, modern bathroom, beautiful kitchen! But… it was half the size of my current space.

With just two and a half weeks left, the agent told me another family of three sisters was very interested and viewing the next day. My inner panic exploded: What if I don’t act fast and lose it? What if this is my only option and I miss it?

That evening, my BodyAwake practice helped me return to my body’s home – just being with whatever was arising, letting my body soften, breath flow. In that calm space, I knew that if my body felt off about it, I didn’t want to make a rushed decision.

Interestingly, the next day the agent said the other couple couldn’t make it. I got some breathing room.

The Turning Point: When Body Wisdom Emerges

Sunday started peacefully, but then my mind began its familiar spiral: Oh God, it’s almost Monday, I only have less than two weeks left!

I could have chosen my old pattern – running around, searching more, viewing more places. Instead, I chose a different response.

I brought my attention back to my body and really felt into that smaller space. Imagining myself in that tiny kitchen area, I suddenly felt so constricted, like I couldn’t breathe. And then the tears came…

This feeling brought up body memories from my past – those unresolved emotions where I’d made myself smaller to fit in, to be accepted. The realization came in that moment that: This wasn’t just about a house. This was about every time I’d shrunk myself to meet external expectations.

True Presence: Being With All of It

I came back to my body again, choosing to be completely present with this energy. My awareness just sat there – no judging, no escaping – allowing all the body sensations to exist… the tightness, the heat, the racing heart…

In that complete presence, something beautiful happened. Those intense feelings began to shift… getting smaller… softer… until they transformed into inner spaciousness and peace.

In that pure state of Being, I no longer felt the need to rush anywhere or do anything. A sense of wholeness emerged, and I followed what we learned in BodyAwake Yoga to memorize this new sensation in the body – building new neural pathways.

Then I slept. The next day, I calmly packed and cleaned, feeling an unprecedented sense of ease and contentment. No rush, just deep satisfaction.

The Magic: Inner Space Creates Outer Reality

That evening, sitting in a convenience store, I felt called to check the listings one more time…

What happened next still amazes me – I found a place posted just 16 hours earlier. A space that made my heart absolutely sing, the same size as my current home, in a location I adored!

Creating from Being

This experience taught me what creating from the inside out really means. The new way of creating doesn’t start with “doing more” – it starts with Being.

We often think achieving our goals requires more action, more searching, more effort. But what if we already have all the wisdom and answers we need inside us, just covered up by mental busyness and old reactive patterns?

Don’t get me wrong – it’s not about not taking action. It’s about what inner state we’re in when we act.

The most powerful action often is: letting go of mental control – pause, land inside the body – truly feeling what’s within.

Just like that Sunday when I stopped anxiously thinking “what should I do?” and completely stayed with my body’s feelings, those suppressed energies got to release and transform. The next day, with my inner state clear and peaceful, the outer solution appeared magically.

This is how soul language works – when the mind gets quiet, we can hear our inner truth, that wisdom that knows what’s best for us. Our body is like a sophisticated receiver, able to sense these subtle inner messages and transform them into guidance we can understand and act on.

A Practice for You

Beautiful reader, if you also find yourself working really hard, taking lots of action to achieve your goals, I invite you to try this simple yet profound practice:

Three-Minute Coming Home to Body Practice:

  1. Find a quiet moment, close your eyes, slow your breath
  2. Feel where there’s tension in your body, ask yourself: “Where do I feel this in my body?”
  3. Just be with those sensations, no judging, no rushing to change – like comforting a friend who needs support
  4. With loving curiosity, ask: “Where in my body can I send some love?” – breathe gently into that space, letting your loving attention rest there
  5. As the feeling naturally shifts in your presence, notice any new insights that emerge

When we practice this way of Being, our inner landscape slowly transforms, new neural pathways form, and life responds in ways we never expected.

Most importantly, be patient and gentle with yourself. Each time you notice you’re back in “effortful doing” mode, just lovingly remind yourself to return to your body, to your breath, to present moment Being. There’s no right or wrong, only awareness and practice.

(More specific body practices coming in my next articles!)

Have you had similar experiences? Are you also learning how to “Be” more rather than just “do”? I’d love to hear your thoughts and stories!

If this resonates and you want to learn more about these approaches from Dr. Sue’s “The Energy Codes,” stay tuned! I’m planning a five-part series sharing real-life stories of how I use these methods.

Let’s explore this journey together – creating from Being, from the truth of who we are.

Can’t wait to hear from you!

With warmth,
